Hello everyone! 

Nice to meet you! My name is Precillia I was born and raised in Lyon, a beautiful city located in the southern part of France. I left my hometown several years ago in order to settle down in Paris to complete my studies and to start my career in Human Resources. 

I have been fascinated with the English language since childhood. As an adult, I decided to seek out language partners from around the world so that I could learn English while teaching French in return. And you know what, I really liked it!

Mon métier dans les Ressources Humaines fut une expérience fantastique, dans un environnement où l’excellence était toujours de mise.  J’aimais mon métier, mais il me manquait quelque chose. Je n’étais pas une femme épanouie!

One fateful day, in December 2018, I decided to leave my career behind to pursue becoming a French language instructor. That was the best decision I ever made. 

I am now a French teacher and couldn’t be happier! This job has given me a deep sense of purpose and personal satisfaction especially when my students tell me that they are getting something valuable out of my lessons. 

I have dedicated an enormous amount of time to learning English. From trying to master its grammar to listening to tons of audio clips and videos to achieve the goal of speaking like a native I have encountered every obstacle including: 

Lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes in speaking, the awkward silence of not being able to find the right words to use, understanding what was said but not knowing how to respond, lack of motivation.

I am sure some of you can relate 😂

My determination and the help of my teachers helped me to overcome all these barriers. These past experiences have greatly influenced my current teaching methods. I have now realized that there are ways of teaching a language that are far less stressful and frustrating for the student and do not focus exclusively on grammar.

Il est essentiel de s’amuser tout en apprenant, car les élèves apprennent beaucoup mieux lorsqu’ils associent leur apprentissage à un sentiment positif.
